Obituary of Wayne Stone
Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend Wayne Stone at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 11th, 2024 at the age of 64. Wayne was the son of the late Max and Carrie Stone.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories his loving wife Wanda (nee Walters) of 43 years. A proud father and grandfather, Wayne will forever remain in the hearts of his children Chris (Heather) Stone of Paradise and Shaun (Jennifer Ryan) Stone, of Port aux Basques and grandchildren Dylan, Owen and Logan. He will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law, Bessie Walters of Fox Roost, brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Reginald) Carroll of Margaree, Roberta (Isreal) Strickland of Fox Roost, Ivan (Virginia) Stone of Fox Roost, Maxine (David) Payne of Berwick, Derick (Madonna) Stone of Port aux Basques, Michael (Wanda-Lee) Stone of Margaree, brother in law Douglas Walters of Fox Roost and sister in laws Joanne (Robert) Semple of Wedgeport, Pamela (Craig) Tobin of Margaree, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Wayne was a long-time fisherman followed by 16 years in the Canadian Coast Guard. His biggest passion in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and was happiest with a fishing rod or shotgun in hand. A tireless worker who was the first to lend a hand, he'll be missed by friends, family and the community as a whole.
