Q: How would you describe Wayne to someone who had never met them?
A: Our cousin Wayne was always quiet but always willing to help. When our mom, Amy, was alive we would spend a lot of time at Aunt Carrie’s and Wayne would always take the time to visit with us. His Aunt Amy loved him so much, she loved him like a brother. Wayne was a huge support to us when we loss mom. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Gilb, Kim and Terry
Rest in peace
Wanda and family there are no words to make this any easier for you. Take it one day at a time

I had the privilege of getting to meet Wayne on the CCGS Terry Fox in 2016 and work side by side for the next several years. We became shipmates, but we also became friends and if we didn’t live so far away from each other, it would have been wonderful to hunt and fish together. My saying was “I would trust my life to Wayne Stone!”

I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Wayne’s passing. I sailed with Wayne on the CCGS Terry Fox, I was new to the vessel and Wayne was my go to person. He was always so knowledgeable, dependable, a real class act. When I left the Terry Fox to joint another coast guard vessel I wanted to bring Wayne with me!
My condolences to his family, friends and shipmates. May be rest in peace, gone far too soon.

My deepest condolences to the Stone & extended families. As a member of Wayne's Coast Guard family and in particular his friends onboard the CCGS Terry Fox the loss will run deep. Wayne was simply the best you could ask for. Quiet and humble by nature but as a shipmate and friend he was solid in stature. You would of been lucky to have him as a shipmate, even luckier to have him as a watchmate which I often was. A nice night along and a chat during a 3 am mug up is what I will cherish the most. His love of family, outdoors and the simpler things in life were most evident. Rest in peace

Wanda, Chris, Shaun and families,
It is with a heavy heart that we send this message of condolence to you. We have known Wayne for 43 years and never once did we see him without that smile. He was a kind man and a friend to everyone. I know I was always made welcome when I stayed at your house on the way to a bus trip or a cruise. Many a time we went home in Margaree and found a fish in the sink and we knew right away who placed it there.
You all have hearts that are breaking today and there will be many tears shed. Talk to each other often and find comfort in your memories. Most of all remember that Jesus is by your side to help you through one day at a time.
He will wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you.
