When I was growing up Reg and violet stayed at our home when they came to. Port aux basques so sorry to see that Reg as passed away my grandmother who was also named violet was from Lapoile my deepest condolences to the family

To my sister in law Violet, Gord ,Wade, Craig, Randy and your families my deepest condolences. My heart was saddened when I heard the news of Regs passing. May the memories of your husband/father bring you comfort & the support of loved ones & friends help during this difficult time. I pray God will give all of you extra strength to deal with the days ahead. R.I.P. dear brother in law.

Reg was my all time favourite uncle. He always made time for me since the day I was born. We got very close because we lived with him and Nan when I was only a couple years old. I’ll always remember him making me knitting needles out of splints of wood while we sat by the old stove in Nan’s kitchen. Nan trying to teach me to knit. LOL. … I still can’t knit worth beans but I loved the time with them both. They spoiled me. He would also make me whistles out of green tree branches. I was in heaven there with them in La Poile. I will always treasure that and many other memories I had of him and my family in La Poile. I’m sure I drove My Uncle Reg crazy following him around and always wanting to be with him! Such fond memories and I will miss him dearly! Rest In Peace my dear Uncle Reg. Donna Coburn Ottawa

Sorry to hear of Reg's passing. We've visited LaPoile a couple times and Reg was one of the first to see on the wharf, with a very warm heartfelt welcome. He was very interested in who we were and where we were from. A friendship just waiting to happen. We're happy to have met him. RIP my friend. You will be greatly missed for sure.
