Obituary of Vera LeFresne

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Vera LeFresne announces her passing on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 88 with her loving family by her side. Born in Rencontre West, NL, she was the daughter of the late Llewellyn and Martha (nee Clothier) Ball. Vera was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children; Blanche (Jean) Medeiros, Sandra (Larry) Thornhill, Marcel (Elizabeth) LeFresne, Fay (Walter) Cousins and Dominic (Anastasia) LeFresne; grandchildren; Bobby, Noel, Heidi, Henning, Peter, Krista, Kim, Greg, Renee, Anthony, Shilo, Michael, Kolby, Brooke, and Grace. Great Grandchildren, Heaven, Jaimee, Nolan, Matthew, Curtis, Julie, Tannor, Ryan, Kate, Kelti, Aaron, Joel, Sarah and Olivia; brother and sisters-in-laws, Isreal (Louise), Annie (Bob), Margie, Pearl, Naomi, Susie, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Vera was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Dominic LeFresne; sisters Edith and Lottie; brothers Matthew, Johnny and Gordon; daughter Peggy; son-in-law Per Engelund; granddaughter Kirsten Thornhill; mother and father-in-law. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. at The Holy Spirit Church in Isle aux Morts with Rev. Nathan Cutler and Rev. Jane Allen officiating, interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Spirit Church, Isle aux Morts or a charity of choice.
