Obituary of Susanna Northcott

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Susanna Northcott announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center with her loving family by her side at the age of 80. Born in Cape Ray, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (nee Short) Hodder.
Susanna leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories, her children, Blair Northcott (Jennifer Gardner), Keith (Trina) Northcott, Brent (Sheri) Northcott, Wanda-Lee (Michael) Stone and Edwin (Krista) Northcott, grandchildren, Cecilia (Daniel) Bock, Dalton Northcott, Bradly Northcott, Lucas Northcott, Victoria Stone, Emilee Northcott, Nathan Northcott (Farina), great grandchildren, Payton Killam, Levi and James Bock.
She will never be forgotten by sisters and brothers, Lillian Wellman, Phoebe Durnford, Shirley Seymour, Norma Lilly (Wilson Billard), Louise Keeping, Ray (Eileen) Hodder and Jim (Zenith) Hodder and sister-in-law, Gladys Osmond, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Susanna was predeceased by her husband, Samuel, son, Glen, infant son, Derrick, and grandson, David Stone, baby sister, Marion, sister and brothers in laws, Edith (Roy) Loveless, Hartlan Wellman, Peter Durnford, Garfield Seymour, Eric Lilly, Terrence Keeping, Walter Osmond, Effie (Gabriel) Billard, Faith (Garfield) Carroll, Freeman (Olive) Northcott, Lillian (Percy) Rossiter, and Flo (Ward) Crewe.
In keeping with Susanna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends may visit St. Augustine’s Church, Margaree on Friday, September 13th, from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow on Saturday, September 14th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jane Allen officiating, with interment to follow in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Margaree. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in Susanna’s memory can be made to charity of one’s choice.
