Obituary
Obituary of Margaret Street
Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Margaret Street announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 74, with her loving family by her side. Born in Margaree she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Effie (nee Northcott) Billard.
Margaret leaves to mourn with precious memories her loving husband of 55 years, Joe, daughters, Sherry (Perry) St.Croix, Sharon Street, her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Jolene (Rick), Shane (Sarah), Melanie (Mark), Sarah, and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Addison. She will be sadly missed by sisters Mary Carter, Millie (Herbert) Park, Julie (Hartley) Spencer, Brenda (Wilfred) Luedee, Pauline (Jim) Baggs, her brother Johnny Billard, sisters- and brothers-in-law, Gloria Billard, Ruth Street, and Clifford Coleman, plus a large circle of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her sisters, Gloria Coleman and Betty (Fred) Skinner, brothers, Dick Billard and Lloyd Billard, and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Alman Carter, Matt Street, George (Florence) Street, Alma (Jack) Lillington, and Mable (Bill) Dutot.
Margaret fought long and hard over the years but never lost her smile. We will always remember her resiliency throughout her battle and how her love always shined through. She was full of life and loved having fun and joking with everyone. She would never turn down a good game of cards or bingo. She will forever be missed for her quick wit and her laugh, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her and love her.
The family will be receiving family and friends on Friday, July 12th, from 2:00-4:00 P.M and 7:00-9:00 P.M at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 13th at 2:00 P.M from St. James Anglican Church, with Rev. Faye Coffin and Rev. Jane Allen officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Margaret can be made to charity of one’s choice.
