Obituary of Walter Osmond

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Osmond announce his peaceful passing at home, surrounded by family on Tuesday January 30th, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Margaree, Walt was the son of the late Thomas and Violet (nee Walters) Osmond.
Walt leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his wife Gladys Osmond (nee Northcott) after celebrating 69 years of marriage on January 18th, 2024. He also leaves behind his loving children, Kevin (Loretta), David (Donna), Darlene (John) all of Port aux Basques, and Floyd (Lori) of Hamilton, Ontario, his grandchildren, Tina & Siobhan (his two little pigeons), Danielle, Lindsay, Lee, Trina,Josh and Heather, his great grandchildren, Avery, Alexa, Alaina, Auston, Jake, Megan, and Ryan, plus sisters in law, Susanna Northcott, and Bernice Osmond.
Walt was the last surviving member of his family, he was predeceased by brothers and sisters Jesse (Theresa) Osmond, Art (Francis) Osmond, Wilson (Ruth) Osmond, Thomas Osmond, Saul Osmond, Gertie (Dorman) Warren, and Lottie (George) Anderson, brothers and sisters in law, Effie (Gabriel) Billard, Faith (Garfield) Carroll, Freeman (Olivia) Northcott, Sam Northcott, Lillian (Percy) Rossiter, and Flo (Ward) Crewe, and his mother and father in law, John and Minnie Northcott.
Walt was a man of strong faith; he loved his church and you would find him sitting in the pew every Sunday until his health no longer allowed it. He loved his family, and his children and grandchildren were his world.
Family and friends may visit Oceanside Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1st, from 2:00-4:00 P.M and 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral service will take place on Friday, February 2nd at 11:00 A.M from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Walt may be made to St James Anglican Church.
