Sincere sympathy to all of Gerald's family and friends. He was an incredibly kind, helpful, caring, sincere, life loving man.
He lived "Leave Footprints of Love and Kindness wherever you go."
I'm thankful that he was able to live his dream of retiring back home, but sad that it was ended far too soon. Any time spent with him was special and treasured.

Always a smile, a calm approach and always a yes, no matter how challenging the situation. I had the absolute pleasure of working along side Gerald for 11 years at St. Mary’s. He was an exemplary leader and highly skilled but his true strength was his caring nature that shone bright in the relationships he formed and valued.
Tracy and family sending my deepest condolences to all of you. Cherish all of the memories of your time together with Gerald. My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.

Hiram, Doris, Tracy, Brittany, and Bruce as well as all friends and family,
I have known Gerald for a long time and many fond and fun memories of our youth and then as we reconnected in Cambridge. Gerald was kind and always helping out others and yes, his smile lit up the room. He was a good person taken way too soon. My heart breaks for your family and for Tracy. I guess he and Lloydie are riding around on their motorcycles carefree and forever young. It is hard to believe that they have both been given wings before their time. Please keep each other company.

Gerald, you have the kindest smile, love and laughter like no one other. It's been a long time since I have seen you. So proud of all the friends and loved ones you have, your hard work and determination to start a new life in Ontario and a fantastic well deserved position at St Mary's. I was so excited when you took me for a tour of your job digs, you just glowed with excitement, I was very happy and proud of you. Thank you for all your help that you gave me especially when Joe passed on, I have never forgotten it and never will. You have so many people who love and care for you and will miss you here on earth. You are in my thoughts and that will mean you never left. I am happy you moved back home with your multi generational family of Lemoine's, you were so happy.

To leave such an impact from just a kind smile, to a helping hand alone without words spoken says a lot about a human. Something you end up missing daily, but feel lucky enough to have had. A memory to last a life time and a smile to never be forgotten and the comfort it gave to so many.
May Gerald be at peace.

To Tracey and Family,
It's heartbroken knowing that my dear friend & comrade for over 20 years is no longer with us. I'm blessed that I had the fortune to be a part of team that included him as he & I built something very special at St. Mary's that will last for years. We grew into a very strong team where we overcame many challenges including the "great flood". We worked hard, we struggled together, we achieved things that other said we couldn't do. We supported each during tough personal times but most importantly ... we laughed and always enjoyed each other's company and made sure we had fun at work (the Engineering Weight Loss Challenge). I hope this photo bring a smile to you, Tracey. I will miss my friend.

My deepest condolences to Gerald’s family, friends and his St Mary’s family. I had the honour and privilege to work with Gerald at St. Mary’s, Doris at Groves and his Grandfather George at Guelph General. He comes from a long line of professionals committed to making a difference and helping others. Gerald was an admired, respected and much loved leader who never hesitated to step up whenever and wherever needed. I got to see close-up his quiet resolve to get things done always with a sensitivity to the needs of others. His sense of humour and ready smile got us through some really tough times. Whenever I hear a John Prine song I will think of you, Gerald. RIP

My condolences to all the LeMoine family. I have known Gerald for the past 20 years, we worked in different hospitals but always kept in touch. We would always meet at the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society(CHES) conferences and talk over a beer on what was going on in healthcare and always about a conversation about home. As fellow Newfoundlanders no matter how long you have been away it's always home. Gerald always talked about back home and moving back and I am so glad he did. I am moving back in September and my first visit when i was going to land in Porta Aux Basques was to go visit Gerald. He always had a smile on his face, loved joking around and so so passionate about healthcare. Gerald your healthcare colleagues are mourning your loss Rest in Pease my friend I am sure the trout in the Porta Aux Basques ponds are breathing a sigh of relief today.

I was so sorry to hear this news about Gerald. What a great colleague and friend he was to so many of us at St.Marys General Hospital. He knew the hospital better than anyone. I still remember my first day as President and meeting him for the first time. With a big smile he toured me around St. Mary’s, to all the special places including the boiler room! I learned about the flood and how they’d all managed to care for patients through it. Just one of many epic SMGH facilities stories. We served beside each other through the pandemic - he was someone we could always count on. His team admired and appreciated him so much, and made sure I knew what a great leader he was! He was the epitome of kindness and compassion that our hospital was known for.
I am sorry his time to spend with family in retirement has been short, but know he would have been so happy to be back in Newfoundland. What a special person, colleague and friend. My sincere condolences to his family. You will be missed Gerald. Lee Fairclough

There are countless memories I have of my dad. I will always treasure them - he taught me so much. We loved to do archery and entered tournaments together. He taught me how to fish, which was his favourite thing to do. My daughter Eliza (age 2) loved her Poppy very much, their laughter while they were playing together will forever be my favourite memory. She also said he was the best cuddler, they had the best naps together.
Love you forever Dad xoxo
