I am deeply saddened at learning of the passing of Cavell. My heart breaks as I remember back when we first moved to Port-Aux-Basque. I always admired Cavell’s knack for crafts, the macrame, the cakes she’d make for birthdays and other baking over the holidays ( those ever addictive paro wax cookie’s especially), and all the fabric paintings she would do. Her devotion to her family was unwavering. Her patience for stubborn kids( speaking of myself and trying to get me to eat a potato at supper) was endless. I am so blessed to have had her in my life as a child. I will miss her.
