Obituary of Edward Patey
Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It with great sadness that the family announces the peacefully passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather , great grandfather, brother and brother in law, Edward Patey on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre with his loving family by his side. Born in Cape Ray he was the son of the late Norman and Jane (nee Short) Patey.
As the day winds down and the darkness closes in we give time to reflect on brighter days. Days with a twinkle in your eyes, days with a slight grin and days with quiet laughter.
The bright that shines through the darkness are moments of memories that are created over 81 years. Fishing picking berries and playing cards. Loving your family with a sparkle in his eyes and loving with his whole heart. God Speed Dad.
Edward leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 60 years, Loretta (nee Sheaves), his children, Deborah Meriam, Boyd Patey, Leonard (Nancy) Patey and daughter, Michelle (Robert) Marche, grandchildren, Christopher and Jamie Patey, Brittany Street and step grandchildren, Coiley and Keisha Marche and great grandson, Nicholas Hynes.
He will never be forgotten by brothers, Norman (Catherine) Patey, Alvin and Daniel Patey, brothers and sisters in laws, Henry (Darlene) Sheaves, Theadore Sheaves, Maggie (Colin) Garnier, Marina Sheaves, Carl Gale and Wilfred LeRiche, as well large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Edward was predeceased by his sisters, Cedilla Gale, Gloria LeRiche, brother-in-law, Bernie Sheaves, sister and brother in law, Ruby and Calvin Feltham, niece, Sherry Kendall and nephews, Darren LeRiche,Norman Gale and Shane Skinner, and mother and father in law, Percy and Mary Sheaves, best friend, Leonard Pearce.
The family would like to thanks the nurses, staff and Dr. Nikahd for their care and compassion shown to Edward.
