Sadie May Keeping
March 18, 1943 – May 20, 2022
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Sadie May Keeping announce the passing of a loving wife, and a wonderful mother on Friday, May 20, 2022, with her loving family by her side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 79 years. Born in Francois, Sadie was the daughter of the late Matthew and Janet (née Durnford) Priddle.
Sadie leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband of 61 years Austin, her loving daughters, Barbara (Richard) Hardy, Port aux Basques and Cathy (Darold) Perrier, Kippens, brother, John (Mary) Priddle, Port aux Basques, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pink, Burgeo, Ida Keeping, Ontario, brother-in-law, Walter (Betty) Keeping, Rose Blanche, Ron (Bernice) Keeping, PEI, special nephew, Craig (Tammy) Priddle, their children Brendan and Kaitlyn Priddle all of Corner Brook, Don (Betty) Pink, Ramea, special nieces, Mildred (Dave) McDonald, Ramea, Audrey (Albert) Carroll, Deer Lake, nieces, nephews and special cousins, and a large circle of friends, especially friends of Peter Strides.
Sadie was predeceased by her mother and father in law, Catherine and Norman Keeping, brothers in law, Thomas B. Pink and Nathan Keeping, and special friend Anne Fudge
Sadie was a selfless, kind hearted person; a loving wife and a proud mother, of all that her daughters accomplished. Sadie spent her life as a homemaker, and in her downtime loved to spend time at her cabin in Peter Strides where she loved playing cards, moose hunting, berry picking with her husband Austin, and in later years, her facebook time. Sadie was known for her wonderful cookie making, her strong stature, and her strong faith, as she started every morning with prayer and her bible, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In keeping with Sadie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends may visit St. Boniface Church, Ramea on Tuesday, May 24 from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Church with Deacon Brenda Strickland officiating. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of one’s choice, or perform an act of kindness in Sadie’s memory.
