Obituary of Ivan Bryan Sr.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Ivan Bryan Sr. announces his passing on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 66 with his loving family by his side. Born in Burnt Islands he was the son of the late Frederick and Edith (nee Thorne) Bryan. Ivan leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 45 years, Loretta (nee Sheaves), his sons, Stephen (Trinda) Bryan, Lloydminister, AB and Ivan (Gwen) Bryan, Burnt Islands, granddaughters, Britney and Jayna Bryan, Lloydminister, AB, brothers, Bruce (Wanda) Bryan, Port aux Basques and Ernie (Michelle) Bryan, Halifax, NS, brothers and sisters in laws, Dave (Janet) Sheaves, Ken (Josie) Sheaves, Cecil (Mary Ellen) Sheaves, all of Port aux Basques, Jerry (Cathy) Sheaves, North Sydney, Dwayne (Roxanne) Sheaves, Jim (Kay) Sheaves, Manuel Kettle, and Cynthia (Wils) Thorne all of Port aux Basques, large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Ivan was predeceased, by his brother, Stephen, mother and father in law, James and Rebecca Sheaves, sister-in-law, Judy Edmunds, brother-in-law, Doug Sheaves, niece, Vanessa. In keeping with Ivan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill with Rev. Jane Allen officiating. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to charity of one’s choice. The family entrusted the arrangements to Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
