Obituary
Obituary of Clyde Herritt
Please share a memory of Clyde to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clyde Archibald Herritt announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 12th at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Center, at the age of 82 years. He left this world like he lived his life: on his own terms. He was fiercely independent and would go to great lengths not to be reliant on others. Clyde loved to be outdoors; he spent countless hours on and near the water, and thoroughly enjoyed fishing, berry picking, and riding his ATV. Born in Rose Blanche, Clyde was the son of the late Harriett and George Herritt. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories his children; Marina (Randy), George (Geraldine) and Beverly (Roger). He will forever remain in the hearts of his six grandchildren: Darrell (Charlene), Chad (Jennifer), Kerilyn (Greg), Crystal (Andy), Mitchell (Katherine), Mallory (Riley), and eight great grandchildren: Alexander, Caleb, Ashley, Raichel, Caleb, Colton, Noah and Lincoln. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters and brother: Miriam (Les) Strickland, Ethel Spicer, Clayton (Rita) Herritt, brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman (Susie) Seymour, Hazel Osmond, Frances (Art) Lomond, Marilyn (Wayne) Dominie, Philip Seymour, Israel Seymour, Wilson Seymour and Gladys Seymour, very special friends: Damon and Darlene Gillam, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marie of 55 years, sister: Emily Cox, sisters and brothers-in-law Max Spicer, Robert Cox, John Osmond, Hilda Seymour, Sarah Seymour, Winnie Roberts and Albert Seymour. In keeping with Clyde's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving family and friends on Thursday, July 15th from 1:00-3:00 P.M at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, followed by a funeral service with Rev. Faye Coffin officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Clyde’s memory may be made to Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre-Chemo Unit.
